     PIPPA PASSES, Ky. - The Unversity of Rio Grande recorded a season-high attack percentage and throttled host Alice Lloyd College in a 3-0 (25-11, 25-16, 25-7) rout of the Eagles, Friday night, in River States Conference women's volleyball action at the Perry Campus Center.
     The RedStorm won for a seventh straight time, improving to 8-3 overall and 2-0 in league play.
     Alice Lloyd suffered a fifth consecutive loss and fell to 2-10 overall and 0-2 against RSC foes.
     Rio Grande finished with a .433 swing percentage, collecting 35 kills and only six errors in 67 attacks. That figure included a .577 mark (16 kills, 1 error, 26 attacks) in the final stanza.
     The mark came despite the fact that the RedStorm rested their top hitter for the season, senior Amanda Rarick (Canal Winchester, OH) for a second straight contest.
     The remaining 19 players on the Rio roster all saw action.
     The Eagles finished with three more attack errors (19) than they had kills (16) and tallied a -.037 swing percentage.
     Sophomore Olivia Smith (Bainbridge, OH) and freshman Alliyah Wharton (Port Clinton, OH) led Rio Grande's balanced attack with six kills each, while juniors Sofia Otero Marrero (Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) and Avery Huntzinger (Canal Winchester, OH) finished with 15 and 13 assists, respectively.
     Junior Ashton Webb (Gallipolis, OH) had 13 digs to lead the RedStorm, while junior Jordan Brooks (Reynoldsburg, OH) had three solo blocks and freshman Jenna Harrison (Gallipolis, OH) had three service aces.
     Kyleah Ward had six kills to lead Alice Lloyd, while Taylor Hamilton had seven assists and Caroline Parsons recorded eight assists.
    Rio Grande returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Beckley, W.Va. for a meeting with West Virginia University-Tech. First serve is set for noon.
