The Cougars rolled to a 12-5 triumph in the opener and held on for an 8-6 victory in the nightcap as the two teams wrapped up their respective regular season schedules.
IUK, which also won Friday's series opener, upped its record to 26-19 overall and 17-10 in conference play.
The sweep also allowed the Cougars to wrestle away the No. 4 seed from the RedStorm for the upcoming RSC Tournament.
Rio Grande slipped to 24-26 overall and 14-13 in league play.
The RedStorm trailed 6-0 after three innings in game one and were within two outs in the seventh inning of falling victim to 10-run mercy rule before scoring twice to extend the contest.
