Rio's Ogden, Engler earn final RSC weekly honor

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Madi Ogden and Maddie Engler from the University of Rio Grande were named the River States Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week and Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
The line for Ogden was simple - three appearances, three complete games, three shutouts, three wins.
The Williamsburg, Ohio senior was one out away from a perfect game against Ohio Christian and has now thrown six straight shutouts for a scoreless streak of 38-1/3 consecutive innings.
In that stretch, she had a no-hitter at Oakland City.
Three of Engler's eight hits on the week were extra-base hits. She also scored nine runs and drew eight walks in Rio's 6-0 week.
The Crestline, Ohio sophomore hit .571 and had an on-base percentage of .727, reaching base in 16 of 22 plate appearances. She was on base in every plate appearance against IU Columbus on Sunday to finish the regular season.
