MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Madi Ogden and Gabby Adams from the University of Rio Grande were named the River States Conference Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
Ogden, a senior from Williamsburg, Ohio, may have been the most dominant pitcher in the nation this past week after tossing 18 scoreless innings in wins over WVU Tech, Oakland City, and Brescia.
Ogden struck out 32 hitters over her 18 innings in the circle, allowing just three hits and two walks. She tossed a no-hitter against Oakland City, striking out 10 across seven innings.
Adams, a junior from Grove City, Ohio, reached base in 12 of her 22 plate appearances this week, helping Rio Grande to a 5-1 record and allowing the RedStorm to clinch the RSC's regular season title.
Adams enters this week having hit home runs in three consecutive games, and comes off a week with four multi-hit performances.
