Kerns, Cisco to run for RedStorm in national meet

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The freshman duo of Amarissa Kerns and Olivia Cisco will represent the University of Rio Grande in Friday morning's 43rd Annual NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship at Apalachee Regional Park.
The 5k race, which will be comprised of 36 teams and 90 individuals, is slated to get underway at 9:30 a.m.
Kerns, a native of Lancaster, Ohio, earned River States Conference Newcomer of the Year honors and earned her spot in the national meet by posting a runner-up finish with a time of 19:50 in the RSC Championship on Nov. 5 in Kokomo, Ind.
Cisco, who hails from Waverly, Ohio, did the same by finishing fifth after crossing the finish line in 19:58.
The defending national champion, Milligan (Tenn.), headlines the championship field. The Buffaloes also feature defending individual champion, Alyssa Bearzi.
Point Park University is the RSC's team representative.
