Rio junior pair honored by RSC

     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Elle McLoughlin and Kayla Sedgwick from the University of Rio Grande were named the River States Conference Women's Volleyball Setter and Defender of the Week, respectively, on Monday.
     McLoughlin, a junior from Zanesville, Ohio, earned her sixth weekly honor of the season after leading the RedStorm to a 3-0 week.
     McLoughlin racked up 140 assists over three matches, averaging almost 13 assists per set. She was at her best in a five-set win over IU Southeast, logging a season-high 56 assists.
     For the week, McLoughlin also added 26 digs and seven kills.
     Sedgwick, a junior from Richwood, Ohio, was named an award winner for the first time this season, after playing a key role on the backline in Rio's three victories.
     Sedgwick recorded 59 digs for the week, including a season-high 26 in a five-set victory over IU Southeast. She also tallied 12 assists and three service aces.
