Rio places six on volleyball Scholar-Athlete list

     KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Rio Grande had six honorees on the 2022 Daktronics National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women's Volleyball Scholar-Athlete list.
     The 2022 list, which was released by the national office earlier this week, features 609 student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution.
     In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
     Representing Rio Grande was graduate senior Jess Youse (Pettisville, OH); senior Kacie Trame (Toledo, OH); juniors Amanda Rarick (Canal Winchester, OH), Kyli Ricker (Plain City, OH) and Lyndsey Skeens (Chillicothe, OH); and sophomore Avery Huntzinger (Canal Winchester, OH).
     Graceland (Iowa) led the way with 19 honorees. Concordia (Neb.) finished a close second with 18.
