Kerns leads Rio women at Harrison Dillard

     BEREA, Ohio - Amarissa Kerns had Rio Grande's top finish and Laura Hamm had two Top 10 finishes for the RedStorm women's track & field team in Saturday's Harrison Dillard Twilight hosted by Baldwin Wallace University at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Throws Facility and George Finnie Stadium.
     The meet, which drew schools from all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA, was not team scored.
     Kerns, a senior from Lancaster, Ohio, took third place in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:29.83.
     Hamm, a junior from South Point, Ohio, was sixth in the 800-meter run with a mark of 2:14.70 and ninth in the 1,500-meter run after crossing in 4:43.34.
     Two others representing the RedStorm also had Top 10 outings.
     Freshman Brandy Shular (Winchester, OH) was fourth in the 3,000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 11:40.19, while freshman Ava Hinkle (McConnelsville, OH) was 10th in the Hammer Throw with a toss covering 40.14m.
     Rio Grande will close out its season with a contingent of athletes participating in the NAIA National Championships, beginning May 20 in Asheville, N.C.
