Rio women finish 7th at Muskie Meet No. 3

     NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande got a first place showing from its 4,000-meter distance medley relay unit and finished seventh among the 13 competing teams in the women's division of the Muskie Meet No. 3 hosted by Muskingum University, Saturday afternoon, at the Henry D. Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
     The RedStorm's quartet of freshman Olivia Cisco (Waverly, OH), junior Alyssa Dingus (Wheelersburg, OH), sophomore Jayden Roach (Baltimore, OH) and freshman Amarissa Kerns (Lancaster, OH) took top honors in the DMR with a time of 13:32.17.
     As a team, Rio tallied 34 points.
     Ohio Northern University won the team title with 161.5 points, while Carnegie Mellon (155 pts.) and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (63 pts.) rounded out the top three.
     Rio Grande had seven other scoring finishes from individuals in the meet.
     Freshman Chloe Lovett (Washington Court House, OH) placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.19 and was seventh in the 200-meter dash with a mark of 27.87.
     Also, Roach finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.38; Dingus placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.40; Kerns was sixth in the 1,000-meter run after crossing in 3:20.31; freshman Paris Debord (Chillicothe, OH) was sixth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.47; and Cisco was seventh in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:27.58.
     Rio Grande returns to action next Friday at the Cedarville University Collegiate Invite in Cedarville, Ohio.
     Events are set to get underway at 2:30 p.m.
