Vogt tops Rio women at Tiffin

    TIFFIN, Ohio - Cassidy Vogt recorded a pair of Top 10 finishes to lead the University of Rio Grande in the women's division of the Tiffin University Indoor Open, Friday afternoon, at the Heminger Center.
    Vogt, a sophomore from North Robinson, Ohio finished seventh in both the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump. She posted a time of 9.68 in the hurdle event and cleared 1.52m in the high jump.
    Three other individuals and one relay squad also finished in the top 10 in their respective events.
    Sophomore Kendra Grooms (West Union, OH) tied for fouth in the high jump at 1.52m, while sophomore Chianti Marks (Birmingham, OH) was seventh in the triple jump with an effort of 9.32m and sophomore Jayden Roach (Baltimore, OH) was 10th in the 400-meter dash with a mark of 1:04.18.
    The RedStorm's 4x400 relay team finished fourth with a time of 4:20.66. The quartet was comprised of sophomore Lauren Jolly (Wheelersburg, OH), freshman Chloe Lovett (Washington Court House, OH), Roach and junior Alyssa Dingus (Wheelersburg, OH).
    The meet was not team scored.
    After an extended holiday break, Rio Grande is slated to return to action on Jan. 14 at Muskingum University.
