Hamm's runner-up effort leads RedStorm women

     UPLAND, Ind. - Laura Hamm's second place finish in the 600-meter run highlighted the efforts of the University of Rio Grande women's indoor track and field team at Saturday's George Glass Indoor Invitational hosted by Taylor University at the Taylor-Kelser Fieldhouse.
     Hamm, a junior from South Point, Ohio, crossed the finish line in 1:40.28 to take runner-up honors in the event, edging sophomore teammate Kylie Montgomery (Coal Grove, OH) by just over one second.
     Freshman Joleigh Nott (Gallipolis Ferry, WV) took seventh place with a time of 1:45.91.
     Two other members of Rio's handful of athletes making the trip posted Top 10 outings.
     Freshman Anna Cadle (Bidwell, OH) was sixth in the long jump with an effort of 4.45m, while fellow frosh Lydia Leinweber (Dresden, Germany) was ninth with a leap of 4.10m.
     Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday at meets in Louisville, Ky. an Youngstown, Ohio.
