RedStorm women finish 11th in ITC Sectional

     PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The University of Rio Grande women's bowling team wrapped up its 2025-26 season with an 11th place finish in the Intercollegiate Team Championships Sectional Qualifier at AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes.
     The three-day sectional, which consisted of six rounds of team play and 64 rounds of baker play, wrapped up on Sunday.
     Rio Grande finished with 11,191 pins.
     McKendree University (Ill.) won the team crown with 12,531 pins, holding off St. Vincent College (12,181 pins) for the top spot. Duquesne University was third with 12,089 pins and Trine University placed fourth with 12,023 pins.
     The top four teams in each of the four ITC sectionals advance to the ITC Nationals, which are scheduled for April 13-18 in Green Bay, Wis.
     The top six individuals, whether on a qualifying team or not, also qualify for the national event.
     Three Rio bowlers were part of the individual competition, which included 163 participants.
     Sophomore Lina Fernandez (Mechanicsburg, PA) finished 54th with 1,088 pins, while junior Julie LeMaster (Chillicothe, OH) was 80th with 1,037 pins and senior Megan Foltz (South Point, OH) placed 163rd with 765 pins.
     Rochester Christian's Kenzi Newman had the top individual mark of 1,271 pins.
