     GREENSBURG, Pa. - Caity Moody captured top honors individually and the University of Rio Grande women's bowling team finished runner-up as a team in Saturday's Greater Pittsburgh Collegiate Classic at Hillview Lanes.
     Moody, a senior from Xenia, Ohio, knocked down 648 pins over three games for a 216 average and a 33-pin win over Shawnee State University's Onesti Evans.
     Moody also had Rio's single-game high of 230 in round three.
     The event, which consisted of three team games and 12 rounds of baker play, included nine teams and 66 bowlers.
     St. Vincent College won the team championship with 5,072 pins, while Rio Grande was second with 4,861 pins and the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford was third (4,587).
     Junior Hannah Halstead (Delaware, OH) joined Moody on the All-Tournament team by finished in fourth place with 598 pins over three games, while sophomore Jaelyn Hughes (Indian Lake, OH) had the top finish among Rio's junior varsity team members with a seventh place showing.
     Hughes took down 562 pins over three rounds for an average of 187.3. She also had the junior varsity's single-game high of 223 in game two.
     Rounding out the varsity scores for the RedStorm was freshman Lina Fernandez (Mechanicsburg, PA), who placed 15th with 529 pins in three games; sophomore Payton Goodman (Cardington, OH), who was 25th with 472 pins in three games; and freshman Melanie Liming (Georgetown, OH), who was 27th with 469 pins in three rounds.
     Rio Grande, which had one of the two competing JV squads, knocked down 1,971 pins and finished behind St. Vincent College (2,273).
     Joining Hughes on the RedStorm reserve team was senior Malerie Stanley (Gallipolis, OH), who was 36th with 415 pins in three games; senior Kayla Sheets (Columbus, OH), who placed 40th with 389 pins in three games; senior Emillee-Anne Ross (Wellston, OH), who finished 47th with 321 pins in three games; freshman Addison Jones (Winchester, OH), who was 57th with 187 pins in two rounds; and freshman Kendall Harrod (Chillicothe, OH), who was 65th with 97 pins in her only game.
     Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action on Sunday at the Western PA Shootout in Latrobe, Pa.
