Rio standouts sweep RSC awards

OXFORD, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande made it a clean sweep of the River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week awards on Monday, with Marlee Grinstead claiming the Offensive award and Sophia Kline earning the Defensive honor.
Grinstead, a senior from Albany, Ohio, poured in a career-high 35 points at Midway, helping the RedStorm clinch the East Division title on Thursday.
For the week, she averaged 25 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals, 2.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in helping Rio become the RSC's first entrant into the NAIA Tournament as its overall regular season champion.
Kline, a junior from Sugar Grove, Ohio, averaged a double-double with 10.7 points and 11.3 rebounds.
She had 17 points and eight rebounds in the win over WVU Tech, then had 13 rebounds in back-to-back games against Midway and IU Kokomo.
