     OXFORD, Ohio - University of Rio Grande senior Marina Garcia Perez was named the River States Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
     The Leon, Spain native flirted with triple-doubles in each of Rio's two wins last week, defeating IU East and IU Columbus.
     Garcia Perez averaged 6.5 defensive rebounds per game (8.0 overall) and 5.0 steals per game. Offensively, she averaged 17.0 points and 12.0 assists per game.
