Darnell named RSC Player of the Week

     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - University of Rio Grande senior guard Kaylee Darnell was named the River States Conference Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
     The Wheelersburg, Ohio native had a historic week for the RedStorm, leading the way in victories over IU East and Brescia.
     Darnell had a career-high 36 points, including 26 in the second half and 18 in the fourth quarter, in the win at IU East. She added 24 more in the win at Brescia, becoming just the third 2,000-point scorer in Rio history.
     The senior averaged 30 points per game on the week, shooting 50 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from three-point territory.
