Rio's Darnell earns RSC weekly honor

     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - University of Rio Grande senior guard Kaylee Darnell was named the River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.
     The Wheelersburg, Ohio native did a little bit of everything in leading No. 8 Rio Grande to a road win over Midway in its RSC season opener.
     Darnell scored 29 points in the 86-74 victory, adding five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Through nine games this season, she has scored 25.9 points per game, ranking first in the River States Conference and third in the nation.
