Rio's Darnell, Woods part of preseason All-RSC team

     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Kaylee Darnell and Lexi Woods represent the University of Rio Grande on the 2024-25 Preseason All-River States Conference Women's Basketball Team.
     The 10-player list was announced Wednesday as part of the RSC's Women's Basketball Media Day.
     Darnell, a senior from Wheelersburg, Ohio and a First Team All-RSC pick last season, averaged a team-high 18.2 points per game, along with 5.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.9 steals per contest.
     Woods, a senior from Waverly, Ohio and a Second Team All-RSC selection a year ago, averaged 12.0 points per game and a team-high 6.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 55.7 percent from the field.
     The remainder of the team includes Marissa Austin and Emilee Hope of Oakland City University; Midway University's Kassidy Daugherty; Cianna Gloster and Markayla Holland from Shawnee State University; Indiana University East's Taylor Farris; and the duo of Madison Fueger and Brooklyn Jones from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College.
     In addition to Darnell, returning all-conference first teamers include Hope, Jones and Farris.
