RSC recognizes Rio's Darnell

     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Kaylee Darnell from No. 17 University of Rio Grande (Ohio) is the River States Conference Women's Basektball Player of the Week for Jan. 15-21.
     The junior from Wheelersburg, Ohio, averaged 21.5 points and shot 50 percent during two wins for the RedStorm. Darnell was 14-for-28 shooting overall, 4-for-8 from long range and made 11-of-13 free throws.
     She led Rio Grande to a win over Brescia (Ky.) with 16 points, four rebounds and two assists.
     Darnell came up big with 27 points, four rebounds, two assists and 4 for 6 from 3-point range in a showdown victory over fellow RSC divisional leader Oakland City (Ind.).
