Rio's Skeens snares fifth POTW honor

     MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Ella Skeens from the No. 13-ranked University of Rio Grande (Ohio) collected her fifth River States Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award presented by Brown & Brown Insurance for the week of Feb. 13-19.
     Skeens, a senior from Chillicothe, Ohio, averaged 29.5 points per game and shot 62 percent in two games on the week. She also added 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in the RedStorm's victories over Alice Lloyd (Ky.) and Carlow (Pa.). Skeens was 10-for-11 from the foul line on the week.
     Skeens scored 27 points versus Alice Lloyd and then followed that up with another 32 versus Carlow.
     Rio Grande was well over 100 points in both games, and Skeens did her part making 23 of 37 field goal attempts in the two games.
