Campbellsville cruises past RedStorm

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande men's wrestling team came up winless in a 51-0 loss to Campbellsville University, Friday evening, in a Mid-South Conference dual at the Campbellsville Wrestling Facility.
The RedStorm saw their dual record drop to 1-5 with the loss.
Rio Grande suffered losses by forfeit at 125 and 133 pounds, while three RedStorm grapplers suffered losses by fall.
Freshman Conner Blessing (Point Pleasant, WV) lost by fall to Campbellsville's Nick Moore at 0:41 of their 141-pound match, while freshman Ben Sloan (Ironton, OH) fell to Jose Milord at 2:14 of their 149-pound bout and senior Michael Peneski (Port Washington, NY) fell to Gabe Craig at 0:42 of their 285-pound match.
Sophomore Pate Eastin (Granger, IN) and freshman Gary Reno (Hillsboro, OH) were the victims of technical fall decisions in their respective outings.
Eastin dropped a 15-0 decision to Shadrick Slone at 4:47 of their 174-pound match, while Reno lost 19-4 to Joel Hatchett at 5:28 of their 197-pound bout.
Junior Mackandle Freeman (Point Pleasant, WV) and junior Justin Bartee (Point Pleasant, WV) ended up on the short end of major decisions at 157 pounds and 184 pounds, respectively.
Freeman fell 8-0 to Tyler Muldrew, while Bartee fell 11-3 to Brice Parks.
At 165 pounds, senior Mitchell Freeman (Point Pleasant, WV) lost a 4-2 decision to Jasitin Kubwimana.
Rio Grande returns to action next Friday and Saturday at the Missouri Valley Invitational in Marshall, Mo.
