Ninth-ranked Tigers roll Rio

     GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Ninth-ranked Georgetown College trailed just once the entire night and cruised to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-17) victory over the University of Rio Grande, Tuesday night, in Mid-South Conference men's volleyball action at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.
     The Tigers improved to 11-3 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the win.
     Rio Grande dropped to 5-11 overall and 0-2 in the MSC with the loss.
     The RedStorm failed to register a lead in either of the opening two sets and their lone advantage of the night came at 1-0 in set three.
     Georgetown followed up the deficit with eight straight winners of its own and never looked back en route to its straight sets triumph.
     The Tigers hit a blistering .359 for the match with 34 kills and 11 errors in 64 swings.
     Rio Grande finished with one more attack error (20) than it had kills (19) in 70 attacks for a -.014 swing percentage.
     Jose Acuna Yepes led GC with eight kills, while Finn Heinemann had 30 assists and five service aces.
     CJ Bride had eight digs for the Tigers, while Tyree Wesley had a solo block and a block assist.
     Freshman Jakub Tuz (Katovice, Poland) had six kills for Rio Grande, while sophomore Mitch Bartecki (Valparaiso, IN) tallied 17 assists and junior Seth Mohr (Canton, OH) had six digs.
     Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action on Friday night at Campbellsville University.
