Rio Grande Sports Information
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Host Indiana Tech University trailed just once the entire night and cruised to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-19) victory over the University of Rio Grande, Tuesday night, in non-conference men's volleyball action at Schaefer Center.
The 11th-ranked Warriors improved to 5-0 with the win.
Rio Grande lost for a seventh straight time and dropped to 1-8.
The RedStorm's only lead of the night came thanks to a kill by junior Tyler Miller-Bross (Loveland, OH) on the opening swing of the third set.
Indiana Tech jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first set and never looked back, while another 5-0 run early in set two produced a 10-4 and allowed the hosts to grab control.
Although the 1-0 lead in the third set provided Rio Grande with its only advantage of the night, the RedStorm were still within striking distance after a kill by senior Caden Donaldson (Jackson, OH) had head coach Nick Rawls' squad as close as 19-16.
But the Warriors finished things off, though, with four of the final six winners to seal the match victory.
Daynte Stewart had 10 kills to lead Indiana Tech, while Brandon Jones had 22 assists and Jacob Carrico tallied 13 digs. Stewart and Carrico also had three service aces each.
Logan Gamero had seven block assists for the Warriors, who finished with a .227 attack percentage (27 kills, 10 errors, 75 attacks).

Rio Grande returns to action on Thursday afternoon in a tri-match at Brescia University in Owensboro, Ky.
