RedStorm men finish 13th at Otterbein Twilight

Rio Grande Sports Information
WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Mother Nature did her level best to wreak havoc on the last chance the University of Rio Grande men's track & field team had at seeing action in advance of the upcoming River States Conference Championship.
Numerous weather delays brought about a premature end to the RedStorm's outing at Saturday's Otterbein Twilight, hosted by Otterbein University at Memorial Stadium.
While the majority of the field events and the preliminary round of the track contests were completed before the inclement weather began, the meet didn't actually wrap up until the early morning hours of Sunday.
However, as talks began that the meet was not going to be completed, the RedStorm began the trip back home only to find out that it did, in fact, resume and continue to its conclusion.
In the events that did get finished before the delays and Rio's departure, the RedStorm tallied five Top 10 performances.
Junior Eric Weber (Bidwell, OH) had the top outing among the five, placing third in the hammer throw with a toss of 48.75m.
Others who represented Rio included sophomore Andrew Skaggs (Minford, OH), who took sixth place in the long jump with an effort of 6.16m; freshman Daunevyn Woodson (Gallipolis, OH), who was seventh in the long jump with a mark of 6.14m; junior Haden Karshner (Circleville, OH), was seventh in the hammer throw with a heave of 44.43m; and freshman Hunter Blagg (Ironton, OH), who was 10th in the long jump at 6.00m.
Rio Grande finished 13th among the 19 competing schools with 13 points.
Cedarville University won the team crown with 110 points, while host Otterbein finished runner with 96 points and Capital University was third with 62.5 points.
The RSC Championship is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Stockmeister Track and Field on the Rio Grande campus.
Action begins Friday at 1 p.m.
