Rio men finish 10th in Cedarville Invite

     CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Daunevyn Woodson's finish in the long jump gave the University of Rio Grande men their best performance in Saturday's Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invite, hosted by Cedarville University at the Doden Fieldhouse.
     Woodson, a freshman from Gallipolis, Ohio, finished second with an effort of 21-10.00.
     Rio Grande finished 10th among the 19 participating teams with 21 points.
     Cedarville won the team crown with 150 points, while Midway University (64.5 pts.) and Mount Vernon Nazarene University (58 pts.) rounded out the top three.
     Completing the list of scoring performances for the RedStorm was junior Eric Weber (Bidwell, OH), who was fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 45-03.50; junior Haden Karshner (Circleville, OH), who was fifth in the shot put with a toss of 42-11.50 and sixth in the weight throw with an effort of 44-08.25; sophomore Ryan Weber (Bidwell, OH), who was eighth in the weight throw at 42-05.25; and sophomore Andrew Skaggs (Minford, OH), who placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.39.
     Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action next Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Mount St. Joseph Invitational in Cincinnati. Action is scheduled for an 11 a.m. start.
