GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Tyler Jenkins added another All-American honor to his collegiate resume, leading the efforts of the University of Rio Grande in Saturday's final round of competition in the 69th NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship hosted by the Gainesville Sports Commission at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe.
Jenkins, a senior from Barnesville, Ohio, finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:29.83 - the second fastest time in school history, trailing a mark which he also owns.
The top eight finishers earn All-American honors.
Also on Saturday, sophomore Ryder Crawford (Owensville, OH) grabbed 13th place in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:28.76, while sophomore Keegan McKinney (Baltimore, OH) was 28th in the shot put with a top heave of 13.49m.
"Ryder broke Tyler's school record and he was the last one to get into the nationals. Seeded last and held ninth place until 800 to go," said Rio Grande head coach Matt Paxton. "Tyler did what Tyler does. Kasy (Science), Milan (Tobiska) and Keegan all set school records in their events. Our 4x8 finishes as All-Americans, while our 4x4 and DMR both set the second-fastest times in school history. It was a pretty nice season. Now we look forward to outdoors."
Rio Grande finished with eight points as a team and was part of a seven-way tie for 36th place among the 68 teams who scored.
The RedStorm will get back into action next Saturday when it opens the 2026 outdoor schedule at the Mikey Cox Distance Classic hosted by Concord (WV) University.
