GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The University of Rio Grande tacked on one more All-American finish during Saturday's final day of the 2025 U.S. Marines NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by the Gainesville Sports Commission at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center at Celebration Pointe.
Junior Tyler Jenkins (Barnesville, OH) turned the trick by placing fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:19.69.
The top eight finishers earned All-American status.
Rio Grande had another all-but-guaranteed All-American finish erased when sophomore Troy Mason (Grenville, Grenada) was disqualified from 200-meter final for failing to make the 30-minute pre-race check in.
With only eight runners in the final, being DQ'd was the only thing that prevented Mason from enjoying the same distinction. He qualified fifth in the preliminaries.
The last member of Rio's contingent to compete, sophomore Rowen Gerlach (New Haven, WV) finished 27th in the shot put with a heave covering 14.75m and did not advance to the finals.
As a team, the RedStorm finished in a four-way tie for 33rd place with nine points.
Marian (Ind.) University won the men's team title with 74 points, while the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) and Doane (Neb.) comprised the top three with 64 and 39 points, respectively.
Cumberlands won the women's team championship with 58 points, while Doane was the runner-up (48 pts.) and Madonna (Mich.) University was third with 45 points.
Rio Grande was one of eight teams which tied for 42nd place with four points.
