No. 15 Wildcats blank Rio men

     MARION, Ind. - Guzman Trigo scored one goal and assisted on another, while Brandon Nyagurungo had two assists to lead 15th-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University to a 4-0 win over the University of Rio Grande, Saturday afternoon, in non-conference men's soccer action at the IWU Soccer Complex.
     The host Wildcats improved to 7-0 with the shutout win.
     The RedStorm, who saw their winless streak extended to five consecutive outings, slipped to 1-4-1 with the loss.
     Trigo assisted on a goal by Tim Slusarczyk just 7:18 into the match, while scoring via a feed from Nyagurungo with 12:28 left before halftime to give Wesleyan a 2-0 advantage at the break.
     The Wildcats' stretched their cushion to 3-0 just under six minutes into the second half when Kyle Rinehart scored off of an assist by Taha Houssni.
     The final marker of the contest came with 19:31 remaining when Yarek Carnegie found the back of the net off of a pass from Nyagurungo.
     Indiana Wesleyan outshot Rio 19-8 overall and 9-6 on frame. The Wildcats also had seven of the game's 12 corner kick chances.
     Logan Smith recorded five saves in net for IWU.
     Senior Matheus de Campos (Brasilia, Brazil) also had five saves in a losing cause for the RedStorm.
     Rio Grande is slated to return to action on Friday evening when it hosts Washington Adventist University for a 5 p.m. kickoff at Evan E. Davis Field.
