RedStorm ranked No. 13 in NAIA poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Rio Grande is ranked 13th in the first NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the 2020-21 season.
The poll, which is the result of balloting by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups, was released Wednesday afternoon.
Head coach Scott Morrissey's club, which posted an 8-2 record in the Fall before its season was put on hold, piled up 288 points in the voting.
The RedStorm are scheduled to resume their season on Saturday at Marian (Ind.) University.
After earning its second red banner in two years December 2020, Central Methodist (Mo.) will enter the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. The Eagles claimed all 18 first-place votes and tallied 498 points in the voting.
Rounding out the top five was Oklahoma Wesleyan (482 pts.), William Carey, Miss. (458 pts.), Columbia, Mo. (446 pts.) and Missouri Valley (429 pts.).
