RedStorm third in final regular season poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The University of Rio Grande maintained its hold on the No. 3 spot in the final NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 poll of the 2016 regular season.
The national office made the announcement Tuesday evening.
The RedStorm received 437 points in the balloting of a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Association of Independent Institutions and Unaffiliated Groups.
Rio Grande (16-1-1), which has been idle since Oct. 29 after a win over Asbury University to end the regular season, will play the Eagles again in the semifinal round of the River States Conference Tournament on Nov. 9 at Evan E. Davis Field.

Oklahoma Wesleyan remained ensconsced in the top spot for an eight consecutive week after receiving 16 ot 17 first-place votes and 467 total points.
The remainder of top five stayed the same for a third straight weel.
Hastings (Neb.) grabbed the other first-place nod and remained second, while Davenport (Mich.) and the University of Northwestern Ohio are in back of the RedStorm in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
For the first time all season, there were no newcomers to the poll.
No. 20 Westmont (Calif.) highlighted the biggest positive shift, albeit minimal, jumping up two spots, while No. 14 Baker (Kan.) dropped five spots after losing to unranked Grand View (Iowa).
Sixteen of the 19 conferences are represented this week. The Heart of America Athletic Conference has three teams into the Top 25, the most of any conference.
Overall, eight leagues - including the River States Conference - have multiple teams into the Top 25.
WVU-Tech is the RSC's other ranked team. The Golden Bears moved up one spot to No. 9 this week.
