RedStorm reserves third at The Commemorative

LANCASTER, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande men's golf reserve squad posted a fourth place finish in The Commemorative, hosted by Hocking College.
The tournament finished its two-day run on Monday at Lancaster Golf Club.
The RedStorm finished at 79-over par 655, one shot behind Marian University-Ancilla. Ohio Dominican University's "B" team won the team title at 54-over 630.
Individually, Ohio Dominican's Elijah Zimmerman took medalist honors by finishing at 6-over par 150.
Rio Grande's top showing came from freshman Joel Jepson (Norrtalje, Sweden), who tied for second place at 13-over par 157.
Freshman Valerio De Angelis (Rome, Italy) also cracked the Top 10, finishing in a tie for ninth place at 18-over 162.
Also representing the RedStorm was junior Connor Ingels (New Haven, WV), who tied for 17th place at 22-over 166; Conner Roe (Rio Grande, OH), who was 30th at 31-over par 175; and freshman Floris Everwijn (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), who was 46th after shooting an 87 in round one and not participating in round two.
Two other Rio golfers competed as individuals.
Freshman Wyatt McCune (Coolville, OH) tied for 33rd place at 33-over 177 and freshman Deo Alvarez (Verzcruz, Mexico) was 39th at 39-over par 183.
Rio Grande's reserve team returns to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Kentucky Christian University Invitational in Grayson, Ky.
The RedStorm varsity will be in action those same days at the LTU Spring Shootout in Yorktown, Ind.
