RedStorm men finish 4th at UNOH

RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Juan Carlos Gil Perez's fourth-place finish helped the University of Rio Grande varsity men's golf team to a fourth-place showing in the University of Northwestern Ohio 2025 Spring Invite.
The two-day, 54-hole event concluded Tuesday at the Bluffton Golf Club in Bluffton, Ohio.
Gil Perez, a sophomore from Malaga, Spain, finished at 8-over par 224, carding an even-par 72 over the final 18 holes.
As a team, Rio Grande finished in a tie for fourth place with Asbury University at 69-over par 933.
Host UNOH won the eight-team event at 26-over par 890, defeating runner-up Tennessee Wesleyan by five shots. The UNOH "B" entry was third at 911.
Individually, Adrian Martin from UNOH "B" and Tennessee Wesleyan's Dalton Sutton tied for medalist honors with a 6-over par total of 222.
Joining Gil Perez on the course for the RedStorm was senior Nicolas Gonzalez (Medellin, Colombia), who was among a trio of players tied for 16th place at 13-over 229; junior Rodrigo Portilla (Sevilla, Spain), who tied for 24th place at 23-over par 239; sophomore Connor Ingels (New Haven, WV), who was part of a quartet tied for 32nd place at 31-over 247; and freshman Ryan Ladermilt (Racine, OH), who tied for 39th place 38-over par 254.
Rio Grande also placed an entry in the Harry Weinbrecht Invitational hosted by Shawnee State on Monday at the Elks Country Club in McDermott, Ohio.
The RedStorm "B" team carded a 44-over par 332 to take sixth place in the seven-team, 18-hole event.
West Virginia Tech's "A" entry was first at 8-over par 296, while Shawnee State was second at 14-over 302 and the University of Pikeville took third at 303.
WVU-Tech's Bryson Beaver had the top individual mark at 1-under par 71, edging Pikeville's Tyler Ford by one stroke.
Senior Eli Adkins (Stout, OH) was responsible for Rio Grande's top individual score, finishing 18th at 7-over 79.
Also representing the RedStorm was freshman Conner Roe (Gallipolis, OH), one of three players tied for 20th place at 9-over 81; junior Tanner Lisle (Racine, OH), one of four players tied for 29th place at 13-over par 85; freshman Keltin Robinson (Peebles, OH) and senior Zach Adkins (Albany, OH), who tied for 35th place at 15-over par 87; and junior Lance Stewart (Racine, OH), who was among a trio tied for 37th place at 16-over par 88.
Rio Grande wraps up its season May 4-6 in the River States Conference Championship at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W.Va.
