Rio reserves finish fall schedule at OCU

     CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande men's golf team put the wraps on its fall schedule by splitting its entry and finishing third and fifth in the Ohio Christian University Classic, Saturday afternoon, at the Pickaway Golf Course.
     The RedStorm's "A" entry finished third in the 36-hole, five-team tourney at 59-over par 635, while the Rio "B" squad was fifth at 82-over par 658.
     West Virginia University-Tech "A" won the team title at 10-over 586, while the Golden Bears "B" unit was the runner-up at 41-over par 617.
     Santiago Zambrano of Tech's "A" team won medalist honors in the field of 27 participants by finishing at 4-under par 140.
     Rio Grande's top individual outing from the "A" team came from freshman Niklas Hacker (Bielefeld, Germany), who finished eighth at 11-over par 155, while the top score from the RedStorm "B" team was carded by freshman Connor Ingels (New Haven, WV), who tied for 12th place with a 15-over par 159.
     Also representing Rio on its "A" entry was freshman Magnus Fabian (Stuttgart, Germany), who placed ninth at 12-over par 156; freshman Juan Carlos Gil Perez (Malaga, Spain), who was 10th at 13-over 157; and sophomore Jacob Smeeks (Belpre, OH), who tied for 20th place at 23-over par 167.
     The RedStorm's "B" team also included junior Eli Adkins (Stout, OH), who placed 16th with an 18-over par 162; sophomore Kameron Maple (Oak Hill, OH), who tied for 18th place at 21-over par 165; sophomore Tanner Lisle (Racine, OH), who tied for 23rd place at 30-over par 174; and sophomore Lance Stewart (Racine, OH), who was 25th with a 31-over par 175.
