RedStorm men 7th at Bulldog Bash

RICHMOND, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande men's bowling team finished in seventh place in the Bulldog Bash hosted by Union Commonwealth University.
The two-day, eight-team tournament, which was comprised of four rounds of team play and 12 rounds of baker action, wrapped up on Sunday at the Galaxy Bowling and Entertainment Center.
The RedStorm finished with 4,887 pins as a team.
The University of Pikeville captured the team championship with 5,872 pins, while Shawnee State University took runner-up honors with 5,670 pins. Wright State University was third with 5,462 pins.
Individually, Lindsey Wilson University's Nick Blakey took top honors among the 86 competitors with 827 pins over four rounds.
Rio Grande's best individual outing came from freshman Daniel Mast (Carlisle, PA), who placed 21st with 659 pins over four games and a 164.8 average.
Also rolling for the RedStorm was junior Jacob LeMaster (Chillicothe, OH), who finished 23rd with 633 pins over four games; sophomore Sailor Cope (Chillicothe, OH), who was 29th with 592 pins in four rounds; junior Dominic Catanese (North Royalton, OH), who took 45th place with 431 pins in three games; freshman Merik Candella (Columbus, OH), who finished 48th with 404 pins in three turns; and freshman Logan Morris (Chillicothe, OH), who placed 71st with 242 pins in two rounds.
Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action Dec. 18-21 at a pair of tournaments in Las Vegas, Nev.
