     MARIETTA, Ga. - Dominic Catanese posted a Top 20 finish individually to lead the University of Rio Grande men's bowling team to a 17th place showing in the Bowlero South Collegiate Classic, which completed its two-day schedule on Sunday.
     Catanese, a junior from North Royalton, Ohio, finished 17th in the field of 190 bowlers with 1,054 pins over five games for a 210.8 average.
     As a team, the RedStorm took down 7,529 pins over five rounds of team play and 16 baker games.
     Webber International (Fla.) captured the team championship with 8,644 pins. Tennessee Wesleyan finished as the runner-up with 8,443 pins and the University of Pikeville rounded out the top three with 8,364 pins.
     Individually, Webber International's Michael Weyl took top honors with 1,160 pins in two games. He edged William Patterson University's Ethan Bromley by two pins.
     Among the others who represented Rio in the event were junior Jacob LeMaster (Chillicothe, OH), who placed 44th with with 983 pins in five rounds, including a team-best 258 in his second game; freshman Daniel Mast (Carlisle, PA), who was 71st with 912 pins in five rounds; sophomore Sailor Cope (Chillicothe, OH), who was 82nd with 870 pins in five games; freshman Merik Candella (Columbus, OH), who placed 102nd with 715 pins in four games; and freshman Caden Faust (Hillsboro, OH), who was 173rd with a 170 in his only round.
     Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action on Nov. 15 at the Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament No. 2 in Columbus, Ohio.
