Rio men 18th at OBC No. 1

     COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande posted an 18th place performance in the men's division of Saturday's Ohio Bowling Conference No. 1 Tournament at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
     The RedStorm finished with 4,507 pins over three rounds of team play and 12 baker games.
     Robert Morris (Pa.) University won the team title with 5,422 pins, slipping past runner-up Ohio Northern University's 5,399 pins.
     Thomas More (Ky.) University was a close third among the 20 participating schools with 5,388 pins.
     Ohio Northern's Addison Crouch took medalist honors as an individual with 754 pins over three games.
     Rio Grande's best individual outing was posted by junior Jacob LeMaster (Chillicothe, OH), who was 60th among the 218 competitors with 549 pins over three games. He also had the team's high-game with a 220 in round one.
     The RedStorm were also represented by freshman Daniel Mast (Carlisle, PA), who finished 78th with 529 pins in three rounds; sophomore Sailor Cope (Chillicothe, OH), who took 94th place with 510 pins in three games; junior Dominic Catanese (North Royalton, OH), who was 103rd with 498 pins in three rounds; freshman Merik Candella (Columbus, OH), who was 175th with 254 pins in two games; and freshman Caden Faust (Hillsboro, OH), who finished 211th with a 132 in his only game.
     Rio Grande is slated to return to action on Nov. 1 and 2 at the Bowlero Southern in Marietta, Ga.
