Rio men placed ninth in final OBC event

     COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande men's bowling team posted a ninth place finish in the Ohio Bowling Conference No. 4 Tournament, which took place Saturday at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
     The tournament was shortened to 28 rounds of baker play due to inclement weather.
     The RedStorm toppled 5,261 pins as a team.
     Ohio State University took first place with 6,025 pins, while the University of Northwestern Ohio (5,729) was second and Robert Morris, Pa. finished third (5,564).
     Rio Grande's roster for the event included freshman Brian Laughman (Piqua, OH), freshman Chase McMillen (Lewiston, OH), sophomore Dominic Catanese (North Royalton, OH), sophomore Gage Hamm (Rushsylvania, OH), senior Hunter Bolender (Mt. Orab, OH), sophomore Jacob Lemaster (Chillicothe, OH), freshman Jakhai Agnew (Columbus, OH), freshman Justin Lowery (Chillicothe, OH), freshman Mason Spies (Marion, OH), freshman Sailor Cope (Chillicothe, OH) and junior Shawn Woodyard (Jackson, OH).
     Catanese was recognized at the completion of the event for being named to the All-Conference Second Team.
     Rio Grande will return to action next weekend at the prestigious Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis.
