RedStorm men 18th at Roto Grip Classic

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The University of Rio Grande men's bowling team recorded an 17th place finish among the 18 squads participating in the Roto Grip Keystone Classic, which concluded on Thursday at the Haja Rose Bowl.
The two-day event featured five rounds of team play on Wednesday and 20 baker rounds on Thursday.
The RedStorm finished with 8,222 pins toppled.
Indiana Tech won the team championship with 9,373 pins, narrowly edging runner-up Lawrence Tech (Mich.) University by 10 pins. Trine University was third with 9,275 pins.
Individually, the top performance came from Lawrence Tech's Noah Daniels, who had 1,147 pins over five rounds for a 229.5 average.
Rio's top showing in the pool of 121 participants came from sophomore Dominic Catanese (North Royalton, OH), who was 39th with 970 pins over five games for a 195.8 average. He also authored the best single-game performance for the team with a 247 in game four.
Also rolling for the RedStorm was sophomore Jacob Lemaster (Chillicothe, OH), who was 48th with 941 pins over five games; sophomore Gage Hamm (Rushsylvania, OH), who was 52nd with 891 pins over five games; freshman Chase McMillen (Lewiston, OH), who was 56th with 841 pins in five games; and freshman Justin Lowery (Chillicothe, OH), who placed 62nd with 790 pins over the course of five rounds.
Rio Grande will remain in town on Friday and Saturday to participate in the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic at Jordan Lanes.
