Rio's Catanese grabs All-Tournament slot at OBC No. 3

     COLUMBUS, Ohio - University of Rio Grande sophomore Dominic Catanese earned All-Tournament honors by virtue of his third place showing in Saturday's Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament No. 3 at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace.
     Catanese, a native North Royalton, Ohio, took down 911 pins over four rounds of team play, finishing five pins behind Brody Wildenmann of Muskingum University for the runner-up spot.
     Christopher Matthews from the University of Northwestern Ohio had the top individual score of 962 pins.
     UNOH also won the team title with 6,007 pins, while Ohio State University was second (5,900) and Muskingum was third (5,785).
     Rio Grande finished sixth with 5,452 pins.
     Among the others in the field of 97 varsity bowlers representing the RedStom was sophomore Jacob Lemaster (Chillicothe, OH), who tied for 15th place with 830 pins; sophomore Gage Hamm (Rushsylvania, OH), who was 25th after knocking down 783 pins in four games; junior Shawn Woodyard (Jackson, OH), who tied for 33rd place with 748 pins, including a team-high 264 in game three; and freshman Jahki Agnew (Columbus, OH), who finished 50th with 653 pins over four games.
     Rio Grande also fielded a team in the junior varsity division, finishing at the bottom of the 11-team field with 2,254 pins.
     Wright State University won the JV team crown with 5,379 pins, while UNOH was second (5,234) and Robert Morris (5,203) was third.
     Freshman Chase McMillen (Lewiston, OH) had the RedStorm's top individual score in a 63-bowler field with a 583 over four games.
     Also representing Rio was freshman Sailor Cope (Chillicothe, OH), who was 32nd with 576 pins and freshman Brian Laughman (Piqua, OH), who placed 43rd at 481 pins.
     Rio Grande returns to action on Friday and Saturday as part of a pair of NAIA Invitational Tournaments in Jeffersontown, Ky.
