RedStorm's Gross named to OBC No. 4 All-Tournament team

     COLUMBUS, Ohio - Daniel Gross captured All-Tournament honors to headline the efforts of the University of Rio Grande men's bowling team in Saturday's Ohio Bowling Conference No. 4 Tournament at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace 1.
     Gross, a senior who hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, placed fifth in the field of 157 bowlers with 879 pins over four rounds of play for an average of 219.8.
     The tournament was comprised of four team games and 16 rounds of baker play.
     As a team, Rio Grande placed seventh among the 17 participating schools with 6,742 pins.
     The University of Northwestern Ohio took top honors in the team competition with 7,437 pins, while Robert Morris University (7,398) nipped Muskingum University (7,312) for second place.
     Ohio State University's Bryce Lewin finished first individually with 942 pins in four games for a 235.5 average.
     Also rolling for the RedStorm was freshman Dominic Catanese (North Royalton, OH), who was seventh with 876 pins over four games; sophomore Shawn Woodyard (Jackson, OH), who was 40th with 775 pins in four games; freshman Gage Hamm (Rushsylvania, OH), who placed 11th with 552 pins over three games; senior Jalin Ragland (Columbus, OH), who finished 136th with 366 pins in two games; freshman Jacob Lemaster (Chillicothe, OH), who placed 140th with 306 pins over two rounds; and sophomore Alex Coffelt (Canton, OH), who finished 157th with a 123 in his only game.
     Catanese was the owner of Rio's single-game high with a 269 in his fourth game.
     Rio Grande is scheduled to return to action Jan. 27-28 at the Hammer Saints Classic in Newport, Ky.
