Ragland, RedStorm men finish 19th at Lehigh Valley Classic

WHITEHALL, Pa. - Jalin Ragland posted a 19th place individually and the University of Rio Grande men's bowling team finished 19th as well in the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic, which concluded its two-day run on Thursday afternoon at Jordan Lanes.
Ragland, a senior from Columbus, Ohio, took down 1,057 pins over five rounds for a 211.4 average. He was also responsible for the RedStorm's single-game high in the event with a 237 in both the second and fifth rounds.
As a team, Rio toppled 8,001 pins in the Tier-I tournament comprised of five rounds of team play and 20 baker contests.
Indiana Tech finished at the top of the 28-team field with 9,412 pins, edging runner-up Muskingum University (9,408 pins). Lawrence Tech was third with 9,303 pins.
Belmont-Abbey's Connor Breaman finished first among the 196 competitors with 1,161 pins over five games for a 232.2 average.
Also representing Rio Grande was senior Daniel Gross (Cincinnati, OH), who placed 49th with 958 pins over five games; senior Reece Collins (Columbus, OH), who was 108th with 676 pins in four rounds; sophomore Shawn Woodyard (Jackson, OH), who finished 113th with 646 pins in four games; sophomore Alex Coffelt (Canton, OH), who placed 131st with 521 pins in three rounds; freshman Dominic Catanese (North Royalton, OH), who took 155th place with 369 pins over two rounds; freshman Gage Hamm (Rushsylvania, OH), who was 178th after rolling a 192 in his only game; and freshman Jacob Lemaster (Chillicothe, OH), who was 185th with a 156 in his only game.
Rio Grande returns to action on Jan. 20 at the Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament No. 4 in Columbus.
