Bio

Kole Carter serves as the University of Rio Grande’s Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator & Director of Recruiting, bringing a strong background in program building, player development, & relationship-driven recruiting.
A graduate of Gallia Academy High School, Carter’s return to southeast Ohio carries deep personal meaning. As a student-athlete, he was a three-sport standout at Gallia Academy, earning All-District honors in football, basketball, & baseball. His competitive foundation carried into college, where he became a dual-sport athlete at Capital University, competing in both football & baseball while earning two Ohio Athletic Conference Linebacker selections & five Academic All-Conference honors across both sports.
Carter comes to Rio Grande after head coaching experience at the OHSAA level, most recently leading Brunswick High School (OHSAA Division I), where he helped drive a full program turnaround with an emphasis on culture, structure, accountability, & consistent development across the roster. Prior to Brunswick, he served as Head Football Coach at Gallia Academy, guiding his alma mater through one of the most successful stretches in program history.
Across both programs, Carter compiled an 18–11 conference record and led multiple playoff seasons, earning Southeast Ohio District Coach of the Year honors & selection as an OHSFCA North/South All-Star Game Representative.
In addition to coaching, Carter brings a unique educational leadership background. While at Brunswick, he ran a specialized unit serving students with emotional disturbance, supporting some of the school’s most at-risk learners through structure, relationship-building, and social-emotional development. He has also served as an Alternative School Director, leading academic, behavioral, and attendance systems for students in grades 6–12 and building cultures centered on mentorship, communication, & accountability.
A graduate of Capital University, Carter earned his Bachelor of Arts with a 3.8 GPA and holds licensure as a Mild to Moderate Intervention Specialist (K–12).
At Rio Grande, Coach Carter helps lead the Red Storm defense & oversees recruiting operations, focused on bringing in student-athletes who fit the program’s standards, values, & long-term vision.
