MASON, Ohio – University of Rio Grande women's basketball head coach David Smalley has announced the signing of Mason High School's Aly Herren for the 2013-14 season.
Herren, a 5-foot-5 guard, averaged just over four points, three assists and two steals per game for head coach Rob Matula's Comets, who finished the 2012-13 campaign at 22-2 after a 67-63 overtime loss to Fairmont in the Division I regional semifinals.

RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The University of Rio Grande women's basketball program will conduct its 2013 overnight instructional camp, July 7-10, on the URG campus.
The camp, which will utilize both the Newt Oliver Arena and the auxiliary gymnasium in the Lyne Center, is open to girls in grades 4-12.
Campers will be under 24-hour supervision of the Rio Grande coaching staff and a talented group of counselors comprised of college and high school coaches and players. Certified athletic trainers will also be on site.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - University of Rio Grande women's basketball head coach David Smalley has announced the signing of Lake Ridge Academy's Sharday Baines for the 2013-14 season.
Baines, a 5-foot-5 point guard, was a big part of first-year head coach Lisa Medvetz's Royals, who finished 22-4 after falling to eventual state runner-up Berlin Hiland in the semifinal round of the Division IV, Region 13 Tournament.
Baines averaged 11.2 points, 5.8 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game en route to earning a special honorable mention selection to the All-Ohio team.

WINFIELD, W.Va. - University of Rio Grande women's basketball head coach David Smalley has announced the signing of Winfield High School's Mara Rhoades for the 2013-14 school year.
Rhoades, a 5-foot-5 guard/small forward, averaged 13.7 points, 7.5 assists and four rebounds per game as a senior for head coach Tim Toler's Lady Generals, who finished 12-13 following a loss to Spring Valley in the Class AAA Region IV co-finals.

RIO GRANDE, Ohio – University of Rio Grande women's basketball head coach David Smalley has announced the addition of Notre Dame College transfer Harley Adler for the 2013-14 season.
Adler, a 6-foot-1 forward, appeared in just 11 games as a freshman for the NCAA Division II Falcons last winter, averaging 0.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.

SMITHERS, W.Va. – University of Rio Grande women's basketball head coach David Smalley has announced the signing of Valley High School standout Alexis Payne for the 2013-14 season.
Payne, a 6-foot-0 guard/forward, averaged 24.7 points and 16.4 rebounds in leading head coach Richie Cantrell's Greyhounds to 13-8 record and a berth in the West Virginia Class A state tournament – the school's first state tourney appearance since 1991.
"It's amazing," Payne said, when asked to put the day into perspective. "I'm really excited to get started."
