LOUISVILLE, Ky., --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm women's cross country team has been picked to finish third in the MSC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Rio Grande received 64 points in the voting. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

VC's Champion to run at Rio Grande

Rio Grande --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm women's cross country and track and field squads landed their first recruit of the 2010-11 season with the signing of Vinton County High School's Scharlena Champion to a national letter of intent.

Four RedStorm cross country members recognized as NAIA Scholar Athletes

Rio Grande --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's and women's cross country teams recently finished up an outstanding 2009 season with the men's team finishing 21st in the nation at the NAIA National Championships while the women's teams was represented by senior Stacey Arnett and sophomore Kayla Renner.

Renner and Arnett compete at Nationals

Vancouver, Wash. ---"On the men's side, I would like to see us be in the top 20, we're really going to have to run outstanding to do it, but, that's a goal that I would like us see us achieve." Those were the words of Rio Grande head cross country coach Bob Willey prior to leaving for the NAIA National Meet. The RedStorm fell just short of that goal, although they did run well, finishing 21st (out of 32 teams) at the 53rd NAIA Men's National Cross Country Championships at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site on Saturday.

RedStorm XC prepares for nationals

Rio Grande --- The University of RedStorm men's cross country is heading to the NAIA National Championships. Rio will get its chance to challenge the nation's top programs this Saturday in Vancouver, Washington at the 53rd Annual Men's National Cross Country Championships at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site.

Rio's Willey tabbed MSC Coach of the Year

Louisville, Ky. --- When your men's team wins the conference championship and your women's team is runner-up, good things are bound to follow. For Rio Grande head cross country Bob Willey, what has followed is that he earned Mid-South Conference Cross Country Coach of the Year honors.
