LOUISVILLE, Ky., --- The Defending Mid-South Conference champion University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's cross country team is predicted to finish second in the MSC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Rio received 74 voting points, including the final two first-place votes. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

Four RedStorm cross country members recognized as NAIA Scholar Athletes

Rio Grande --- The University of Rio Grande RedStorm men's and women's cross country teams recently finished up an outstanding 2009 season with the men's team finishing 21st in the nation at the NAIA National Championships while the women's teams was represented by senior Stacey Arnett and sophomore Kayla Renner.

RedStorm finish 21st in nation

Vancouver, Wash. ---"On the men's side, I would like to see us be in the top 20, we're really going to have to run outstanding to do it, but, that's a goal that I would like us see us achieve." Those were the words of Rio Grande head cross country coach Bob Willey prior to leaving for the NAIA National Meet. The RedStorm fell just short of that goal, although they did run well, finishing 21st (out of 32 teams) at the 53rd NAIA Men's National Cross Country Championships at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site on Saturday.

RedStorm XC prepares for nationals

Rio Grande --- The University of RedStorm men's cross country is heading to the NAIA National Championships. Rio will get its chance to challenge the nation's top programs this Saturday in Vancouver, Washington at the 53rd Annual Men's National Cross Country Championships at the Fort Vancouver Historical Site.

Redstorm men capture Mid-South XC Title

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Rio Grande men's cross country team knew they had the makings of something special heading into the season. The RedStorm have been under the radar all season on the national level. But after winning the Mid-South Conference Championship and earning a spot at the NAIA National Meet, the RedStorm may now get some overdue accolades. Rio certainly made an impressive debut in the MSC this year by capturing the Mid-South Conference Championship on Saturday morning at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park.
