    FINDLAY, Ohio - Seven athletes representing the University of Rio Grande established new personal records, including three who reached the national championship qualifying standard in the women's division of last weekend's Findlay Indoor Track and Field Classic at the Malcolm Athletic Center.
    Junior Nichole Warsham (Beavercreek, OH) reached the "A" standard in the 3000-meter race walk by finishing seventh with a new PR of 16:26.21, while sophomore Tyanna Petty (Somerset, OH) did the same in the pentathlon by finishing third with 3,162 points.
    Petty also set new personal-bests in both the shot put (8.60m) and 60-meter hurdles (9.74) en route to her finish in the pentathlon.
    Outside of the pentathlon, Petty also notched a fourth-place finish in the high jump by clearing 1.58m.
    Sophomore Katie Browning (Athens, OH) met the "B" standard in the pole vault, finishing sixth with an effort of 3.43m.

    WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande women's track & field team got its 2016 indoor schedule off on the right foot with a runner-up finish at Saturday's Otterbein Invitational at the Clements Recreation Center.
    The RedStorm finished with 87 points in the 11-team meet, finishing in back of host and champion Otterbein University (208.5 pts.) and ahead of third-place finisher Wittenberg (71.5).

    CROWN CITY, Ohio - University of Rio Grande cross country/track & field head coach Bob Willey has announced the signing of South Gallia High School's Alana Riggle for the 2015-16 school year.
    Riggle, a 5-foot-3 sprinter/jumper, competed in four events over the course of her high school career for head coach Beth James' Rebels.
    "I think the University of Rio Grande is a great school and the track & field program is very good," Riggle said, when asked about the deciding factors in her choice to sign with the RedStorm.

    HEATH, Ohio - University of Rio Grande cross country/track & field head coach Bob Willey has announced the signing of Heath High School's Kayla Carmichael for the 2015-16 school year.
    Carmichael, a 5-foot-3 sprinter, set a personal-best time of 12.74 in the 100-meter dash as a senior. As a junior, she anchored Heath's 400 and 800 relay squads to school-record times and fifth-place finishes at the Division II regional meet, while also helping the Bulldogs win the Division II district title and placing in two individual events and two relays.

    HILLSBORO, Ohio - University of Rio Grande cross country/track & field head coach Bob Willey has announced he signing of Hillsboro High School's Alyssa Sullivan for the 2015-16 school year.
    Sullivan, a 6-foot-0 thrower, was a four year varsity letter winner for head coach Sarah Horsley's Indians. She competed in both the shot put and discus during the course of her prep career.
    "I'm beyond excited to be a part of a collegiate level track & field program. It's been a goal of mine since my sophomore year," Sullivan said. "I think it's going to be a great experience. It'll be nice having a specific throwing coach."

    GALLIPOLIS, Ohio - University of Rio Grande director of track & field/cross country Steve Gruenberg has announced the signing of Ohio Valley Christian School's Rebekah Sargent for the 2015-16 school year.
    Sargent, a 5-foot-8 sprinter/jumper, ran for head coach Rick Handley's Defenders, competing in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and the long jump.
    "I'm honored to be able to participate in college-level track," Sargent said. "It'll be a great opportunity to extend my skill and to be the best athlete I can be. I've dream about playing a sport in college since my freshman year, but I never thought I'd be able to."
