    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - University of Rio Grande men's basketball head coach Ken French admitted that his team successfully executed just one play in Thursday night's home tilt against Carlow University.
    Fortunately for the RedStorm, that one play was the last one.
    Matt Rhodes connected on a layup as time expired, lifting Rio Grande to a 94-93 victory over the Celtics in a Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    The RedStorm stopped a two-game losing skid with the win, improving to 16-8 overall and 6-4 in league play.
    Carlow, whose men's program is in just its second year of existence, was denied a first-ever conference triumph, dropping to 5-18 overall and 0-11 in the KIAC.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Conor Mabry came off the bench to score a season-high 29 points and lead Ohio Christian University to an 88-68 win over the University of Rio Grande in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Game of the Week, Tuesday night, at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    Mabry connected on 10 of his 15 field goal attempts, including six of his seven tries from three-point range, for the Trailblazers, who improved to 18-6 overall and 7-3 in the KIAC with their fifth straight win.
    Rio Grande, which lost for the fourth time in five outings on the heels of a nine-game winning streak, slipped to 15-8 overall and 5-4 in league play.

    RICHMOND, Ind. - Indiana University-East built a 12-point second half lead, but was forced to withstand a late rally by the University of Rio Grande for a 78-74 win over the RedStorm, Saturday afternoon, in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action at Richmond High School's Tiernan Center.
    The Red Wolves, who remained perfect in four all-time meetings with Rio, improved to 15-10 overall and 9-2 in the KIAC by completing the season sweep of the RedStorm.
    Rio Grande, which fell for the third time in its last four outings, dropped to 15-7 overall and 5-3 in league play.
    The RedStorm's three KIAC losses have come by a combined 10 points.

    MONTGOMERY, W.Va. - On the heels of consecutive narrow losses at home to the teams directly above them in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Colonial Division standings, the University of Rio Grande men's basketball team responded with one of their most complete performances of the season.
    Senior Dwayne Bazemore had a game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds to pace four RedStorm players in double figures and lead an 81-68 win over West Virginia University Tech, Tuesday night, at the Neal Baisi Athletic Center.
    Rio Grande, which had a nine-game winning streak snapped in a three-point loss to the Golden Bears just 12 days earlier, upped its record to 15-6 overall and 5-2 in the KIAC with the victory.
    Tech, which learned just before tipoff that it had slipped out of the NAIA Division Top 25, suffered a second straight loss in falling to 13-8 overall and 5-3 in league play.
    As a result of the victory, Rio Grande also grabbed sole possession of second place in KIAC Colonial, two games behind division-leading Indiana University East whom the RedStorm will face on Saturday afternoon.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Indiana University-East used a 19-6 run which bridged the end of the first half and the start of the second stanza to erase a six-point deficit and spark an eventual 74-71 win over the University of Rio Grande, Saturday afternoon, in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Game of the Week at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    The Red Wolves improved to 12-8 overall and 6-0 in the KIAC's Colonial Division with a third straight victory.
    Rio Grande, ranked No. 20 in NAIA Division II, suffered a second consecutive loss in falling to 14-6 overall and 4-2 in the KIAC Colonial.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - West Virginia University-Tech built an 18-point first half lead, but had to hang on in the closing moments to finish off an 88-85 over host University of Rio Grande, Thursday night, in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action.
    The loss snapped Rio's nine-game winning streak and dropped the RedStorm, who were ranked No. 20 in the most recent NAIA Division II Top 25, to 14-5 overall and 4-1 in the KIAC.
    Tech, which won for the third time in four outings against a ranked opponent this season, improved to 12-6 overall and 4-1 in league play.
