    LEBANON, Tenn. - Chris Johnson came off the bench to score 20 points and lead fourth-seeded St. Catharine College past No. 5 seed University of Rio Grande, 91-74, in the quarterfinal round of the 2014 Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Championships presented by GoJohnnyGo 5K-10K Run-Walk, Thursday evening, at Cumberland University's Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.
    The Patriots, who improved to 18-11 with the victory, will face top-seeded University of Pikeville - a 78-72 winner over No. 8 seed Lindsey Wilson on Thursday - in Saturday afternoon's semifinal round at 3 p.m. EST.
    Rio Grande, which suffered its seventh straight loss, finished 16-14 in what was the RedStorm's final men's basketball game as a member of the MSC. The school will join the NAIA Division II Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) beginning next season.

    COLUMBIA, Ky. - Two University of Rio Grande men's basketball players were honored for their accomplishments on the court, while two others were recognized for their work in the classroom as the Mid-South Conference announced its award winners for the 2013-14 season on Wednesday.
    Junior forward Josh Reagan (Cleveland, OH) was among the 11 players named to the All-Conference First Team, while senior guard Jermaine Warmack (Orange, NJ) was named to the 10-man All-Conference Second Team.
    Additionally, junior guards Evan Legg (Piketon, OH) and Travis Elliott (Ironton, OH) were named to the Academic All-Mid-South Conference Team.

    LEBANON, Tenn. - The University of Rio Grande men's basketball team fell behind 9-0 in the opening 4-1/2 minutes and never recovered, dropping a 73-66 decision to Cumberland University in the regular season finale for both teams, Saturday afternoon, in Mid-South Conference action at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.
    The Bulldogs, who had lost eight straight games prior to a win over Shawnee State on Thursday night, finished 14-13 overall and 6-12 in the MSC while completing a season sweep of the RedStorm in the process.
    Rio Grande slipped to 16-13 overall and 9-9 in league play with its sixth straight setback.

    COLUMBIA, Ky. - Daronte' Clark scored 10 of his team-high 16 points in a 13-0 first half scoring spurt which sparked Lindsey Wilson College to what became a 91-75 win over the University of Rio Grande, Thursday night, in Mid-South Conference men's basketball action at the Biggers Sports Center.
    The Blue Raiders, who won for the third time in four games on the heels of a five-game losing streak, improved to 15-14 overall and 6-11 in league play with the victory.
    Head coach Paul Peck's club also secured a spot next week's MSC Tournament with the win regardless of the outcome of Saturday's regular season finale against Shawnee State.
    Rio Grande, which saw its losing streak reach a season-high five games, slipped to 16-12 overall and 9-8 inside the conference.
    The RedStorm, who dropped out of the NAIA Division I Top 25 earlier this week for the first time in more than a month, can finish no lower than the No. 6 seed.
    However, the RedStorm could also end up as part of a complicated four-way tie for third place with a win over Cumberland University on Saturday, coupled with a Campbellsville win over Bluefield and a St. Catharine loss to Pikeville.
