    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande men's basketball team gets a shot at redemption - not to mention the chance to continue its chase for a championship - when the RedStorm meet Asbury University on Wednesday night in the quarterfinal round of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
    Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Luce Center in Wilmore, Ky.
    Rio Grande, the No. 3 seed out of the North Division, suffered an 88-87 loss to the Eagles in the lone regular season meeting between the two teams on January 22 in Wilmore. In that game, the RedStorm failed to maintain a 17-point lead with 9:45 left in the contest.
    Rio Grande, which tied Point Park University for second place in the North Division's final standings but lost the tiebreaker to the Pioneers for tournament seeding, brings a 19-11 record and a two-game winning streak into the post-season.

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Junior guard/forward D.D. Joiner matched a season-high with 31 points, including 17 in the second half, as the University of Rio Grande pulled away for an 86-69 win over Carlow University, Saturday afternoon, at Oakland Catholic High School's Donahue Pavilion.
    The RedStorm closed out regular season play at 19-11 overall and 6-7 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with their second straight victory.
    Carlow, which was fielding a men's varsity team for the first time this season, finished 2-22 overall and 0-13 in the KIAC.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - A chance to secure a measure of momentum entering post-season play awaits the University of Rio Grande men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon as it wraps up regular season play against Carlow University.
    Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Oakland Catholic High School's Donahue Pavilion in Pittsburgh, Pa.
    A win would give the RedStorm consecutive victories entering next week's Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.
    Head coach Ken French's club snapped a two-game losing slide with an 87-75 win over Indiana University-Kokomo on Tuesday night, improving to 18-11 overall and 5-7 in league play.
    The win also allowed Rio to nail down the No. 3 seed out of the KIAC North Division.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande placed five players in double figures, including double-double efforts from Dwayne Bazemore and D.D. Joiner, en route to an 87-75 Senior Night win over Indiana University-Kokomo, Tuesday night, in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    The RedStorm, who improved to 18-11 overall and 5-7 in the KIAC, snapped a two-game losing slide and clinched no worse than the No. 3 seed in the league's North Division with the victory.
    IU-Kokomo, which had a two-game winning streak snapped, slipped to 10-19 overall and 4-9 inside the conference with the loss - its second in as many meetings with Rio Grande this season.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - While the President's Day snowstorm which blanketed the Tri-State area has forced the cancellation of classes on Tuesday at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College, there will be basketball at the Newt Oliver Arena tomorrow night.
    The regular season home finale for the RedStorm men's and women's basketball teams against Indiana University-Kokomo will be played as scheduled, with the women's contest set for 5 p.m. and the men scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Lucas Huffman scored a career-high 22 points to lead six players in double figures and spark Indiana University-East to a 98-84 win over the University of Rio Grande, Saturday afternoon, in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    The Red Wolves, ranked No. 23 in the latest NAIA Division II coaches' poll, improved to 22-7 overall and 10-2 in the KIAC with the win and completed a regular season sweep of Rio in the process.
    The RedStorm, who suffered their second straight loss, fell to 17-11 overall and 4-7 in league play. The setback also extinguished any hopes head coach Ken French's squad had of opening conference tournament play at home.
