    BEREA, Ky. - University of Rio Grande sophomore setter/outside hitter Kayla Briley was among those named to the All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team on Friday night.
    The announcement was made by league officials following Rio's season-ending loss to Indiana University-Kokomo in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament at Point Park University.
    Briley, a native of Marion, Ohio, led the RedStorm (18-18) and ranked second in the league with 1,127 assists. Her 8.9 assists per set average led the KIAC.
    Briley also finished tied for the Rio team lead with 34 service aces, was fourth on the squad with 257 digs and was third with 79 blocks (35 solo, 44 assists).

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Third-seeded Indiana University-Kokomo avenged a regular season loss to the University of Rio Grande and ended the RedStorm's post-season run with a 25-19, 25-22, 26-24 win in the quarterfinal round of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, Friday night, at Point Park University.
    Rio Grande, which earlier in the day posted a 25-7, 25-8, 25-9 win over No. 11 seed Alice Lloyd College in the tourney's opening round, finished 18-18.

    UPLAND, Ind. - The University of Rio Grande volleyball team's return to the court after a nearly two-week layoff turned out to be a less-than-successful venture.
    The RedStorm closed out their regular season schedule with a 3-0 loss to Taylor University and a 3-1 loss to Trinity Christian College in a triangular match at Taylor's Odle Arena.
    Rio finished its regular season slate with a record of 17-17 following a 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 loss to the host Trojans and a 19-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-17 setback against the Trolls.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande will return from a nearly two-week hiatus to close out its regular season schedule in a triangular match at Taylor University on Saturday afternoon.
    The RedStorm will square off with the host Trojans in the 1 p.m. opener at Odle Arena before facing Trinity Christian (Ill.) College at approximately 3 p.m. Taylor will then tangle with the Trolls in the 5 p.m. finale.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - One member of the University of Rio Grande volleyball team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
    Senior outside hitter Betsy Schramm (Marietta, OH) was among those named to the College Division District 1 team.
    She is now eligible to earn a spot on the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America team, which will be announced later this month.

    PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The University of Rio Grande volleyball team closed out its regular season conference schedule in successful fashion, rolling to a 3-0 win over host Carlow University, Saturday afternoon, at St. Joe's Hall.
    The RedStorm earned the win by scores of 27-25, 25-12, 25-21 to improve to 17-15 overall and 6-4 in the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
    Head coach Billina Donaldson's squad will likely be the No. 6 seed in the KIAC Tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 14-15 at Point Park University.
    Carlow dropped to 10-16 overall and 4-6 in league play.
