    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande will host its 2016 Summer Volleyball Camp, June 26-28, at the Lyne Center on the URG campus.
    The camp is open to girls in grades 5-12.
    Campers will receive instruction in fundamentals and various drills from a staff that will include a former All-American, as well as All-Ohio and Player of the Year honorees and NAIA national leaders in their area of specialty.
    Campers will also be divided into teams for tournament play to conclude the camp.

    FLORENCE, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande placed two players on the 2015 All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball First Team, while also producing two of the league's individual award winners.
    The post-season honors were recently announced during the KIAC Tournament hosted by the University of Rio Grande.
    Junior libero Chandler Brown (Stockdale, OH) was named the Conference Libero of the Year and joined fellow junior Kayla Briley (Marion, OH) were among those named to the All-KIAC first team.
    Brown tied for the KIAC lead with 6.0 digs per set and was second in the conference with 675 total digs. Her digs per set were fifth in the nation.
    Briley led the KIAC in assists per set at 9.4 and was third in the conference with 1,060 total assists. She also had 364 digs to rank second among setters in the KIAC.
    Freshman Brooke Bostelman (Kenton, OH) was named the KIAC Comeback Player of the Year. Bostelman, an outside hitter, rebounded from a knee injury which forced her to miss the entire 2014 season to total 193 kills and 224 digs.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Third-seeded Point Park University avenged a regular season loss at home and ended the University of Rio Grande's hopes of an extended post-season run with a 3-0 win over the RedStorm in the quarterfinal round of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, Friday night, at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    The Pioneers rolled to a 25-21, 25-19, 25-16 victory, upping the record to 16-22 and earning a spot in Saturday's semifinals against No. 2 seed Indiana-East in the process.
    Rio Grande, which had won eight straight matches coming into Friday's contest - including a 3-2 win at Point Park just over two weeks ago - closed its season at 26-8.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande will look to extend its most successful season in more than 20 years on Friday night when it meets Point Park University in the 2015 Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    First serve is set for 5 p.m.
    The eight-team, single-elimination tournament gets underway with four quarterfinal matches on Friday and continues Saturday with the semifinal and championship contests.
    The top eight teams in the KIAC's final regular season standings qualified for the tournament. Top-seeded Indiana University-Kokomo (31-4 overall, 11-1 KIAC) has already earned the league's first automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship by virtue of its regular-season championship. The other seven teams will be battling for the conference's second automatic bid to nationals, which is given to the KIAC Tournament champion.
    If IU-Kokomo should also win the KIAC Tournament, then the conference's second NAIA bid will go to the tournament runner up.

    LAURINBURG, N.C. - The University of Rio Grande volleyball team closed out its regular season schedule with two more wins, posting straight sets victories over Montreat (N.C.) College and match host St. Andrews University on Saturday afternoon.
    The RedStorm defeated Montreat 25-16, 25-13, 25-19 in their opening match of the day, before taking down the host Knights 25-22, 25-23, 25-23 in the regular season finale.
    Head coach Billina Donaldson's squad improved to 26-7 with the sweep, giving the program its most wins in a single season since the 1992 team finished 37-9 when Donaldson - then known as Billina Cooper - was earning the first of her consecutive Mid-Ohio Conference and District 22 Player of the Year honors.
    The wins also extended Rio's winning streak to eight straight, the program's longest such streak since a seven-match win streak from Oct. 15-28, 2012.

    PIPPA PASSES, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande closed out the regular season portion of its Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule by routing Alice Lloyd College in straight sets, Friday night, at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.
    The RedStorm ran their record to 24-7 overall and 8-4 in the KIAC as a result of a 25-11, 25-5, 25-4 victory over the Eagles.
    Alice Lloyd slipped to 1-17 overall and 0-10 in league play with the loss.
