    CINCINNATI, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande got off to a quick start and never looked back, cruising to a 3-0 win over Cincinnati Christian University, Tuesday night, in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action at Jill Rendel Court.
    The RedStorm won all three sets by scores of 25-15, improving to 6-10 overall and 3-1 in league play.
    Cincinnati Christian slipped to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in the KIAC.

Sophomore Chandler Brown continues to rank third nationally with 338 digs for the RedStorm.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - Point Park University cruised to an easy opening set win and pulled away down the stretch in each of the next two sets to post a 3-0 win over the University of Rio Grande, Saturday afternoon, in Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    The Pioneers improved to 10-6 overall and 6-0 in the KIAC with the win, their eighth in a row. All eight of the wins in the streak have been in straight sets.
    Rio Grande had its modest two-match winning streak snapped, slipping to 5-10 overall and 2-1 in league play.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - History will show that the Univesity of Rio Grande's return to the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was a successful one.
    The RedStorm volleyball team snapped a six-game losing streak by posting wins over Indiana University-Kokomo and Midway College in the school's KIAC debut on Saturday at the Newt Oliver Arena.
    Rio posted a come-from-behind 3-2 triumph over IU-Kokomo (19-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 15-12) before rolling to a 3-1 decision over Midway (25-16, 25-12, 23-25, 25-15).
    The victories left the RedStorm - playing their first athletic contest as a meber of the KIAC since the spring of 1971 - at 5-9 overall and 2-0 in league play.

    PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande volleyball team saw its losing slide grow to six consecutive matches after dropping a 3-0 decision to rival Shawnee State University and a 3-2 tally to Montreat (N.C.) College, Friday night, in the Alumni Weekend Classic at the Frank & Janis Waller Gymnasium.
    The host Bears dumped the RedStorm in the opening match of the night by scores of 26-24, 25-22 and 25-23, while Montreat rallied from an early deficit to post a 20-25, 18-25, 25-21, 25-22, 15-7 win over Rio.
    The losses left Rio Grande at 3-9 on the season, while Shawnee State improved to 5-3 and Montreat earned its first win in 10 tries.
