   RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande baseball team is making a return trip south to begin a five-game road swing after being swept in its season-opening series last weekend at Bryan College.
   Ironically, the RedStorm are heading back to the scene of the crime - so to speak - to participate in the Tennessee Valley Invitational hosted by Bryan College. Head coach Brad Warnimont's team is scheduled to play four games over the course of three days in the round-robin event, before completing its run in the Volunteer State with a single game against Lee University on Monday.

   DAYTON, Tenn. - After spoiling the University of Rio Grande's 2012 baseball season opener with a late rally on Friday, Bryan College completed the series sweep by taking both ends of a doubleheader from the RedStorm by scores of 5-0 and 4-3.

   DAYTON, Tenn. - Bryan College scored a pair of unearned runs in the sixth inning and pushed across five more insurance markers in the eighth en route to a 10-4 win over the University of Rio Grande, Friday night, spoiling the RedStorm's opener to the 2012 baseball season.

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - While Old Man Winter is doing his best to make a return to southeastern Ohio, the University of Rio Grande baseball team is preparing to embark on a road trip to Dayton, Tenn. for a season-opening weekend series against Bryan College.
    The RedStorm will begin the 2012 campaign against the Lions on Friday with a single nine-inning contest scheduled for a 6 p.m. first pitch. The two teams will also meet in a Saturday doubleheader - one nine-inning game and one seven-inning tilt - beginning at 1 p.m.

Mid-South Conference
    LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Rio Grande baseball team has been picked to finish eighth in the Mid-South Conference's 2012 preseason coaches' poll.
    The RedStorm received 15 points in the voting, which was released by conference officials late last week. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
