MOWRYSTOWN, Ohio – University of Rio Grande head track & field coach Bob Willey has announced the signing of Whiteoak High School standout Clarissa Johnson for the 2013-14 school year.
Johnson, a 5-foot-6 sprinter/hurdler, competed in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the 300-meter hurdles and the long jump this spring for head coach Jordan Michael's Wildcats.
Johnson qualified for the regional championship meet in the 100, 200 and 300 hurdles, but did not advance to the state championship in any of the three events. She did, however, set a new personal record in the 300 hurdles at the regional with a finish time of 49.50.

HILLIARD, Ohio – University of Rio Grande cross country/track & field head coach Bob Willey has announced the signing of Hilliard Darby High School's Lane Hagar for the 2013-14 school year.
Hagar, a 5-foot-11, 135-pound distance runner, was a second team All-Ohio Capital Conference cross country selection last season for the Panthers of head coach Mark Tremayne – himself a former runner at Rio Grande. He also was an All-Central District honoree.

MASON, Ohio – University of Rio Grande women's basketball head coach David Smalley has announced the signing of Mason High School's Aly Herren for the 2013-14 season.
Herren, a 5-foot-5 guard, averaged just over four points, three assists and two steals per game for head coach Rob Matula's Comets, who finished the 2012-13 campaign at 22-2 after a 67-63 overtime loss to Fairmont in the Division I regional semifinals.
