    CINCINNATI, Ohio - University of Rio Grande director of cross country/track & field Steve Gruenberg has announced the signing of Mount Healthy High School's Cinque' Williams for the 2014-15 school year.
    Williams, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound hurdler, was a multi-event performer for head coach Ken Meibers' Fighting Owls and was named to the All-Southwest Ohio Conference first team as part of the school's 800-meter relay team.
    Williams was a second team all-conference honoree in both the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles and earned honorable mention all-conference status in the high jump. He was also a second team All-SWOC honoree as a junior in the 300 hurdles.
    Williams also participated in the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the long jump and the triple jump during his prep career.

    FRANKFORT, Ohio - University of Grande director of cross country/track & field Steve Gruenberg has announced the signing of Adena High School's Max Putnam for the 2014-15 school year.
    The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Putnam was a pole vaulter throughout his prep career for head coach Jerry Smith's Warriors. His career-best vault of 11-0 came during his junior year and was equaled again this spring.
    "I'm excited," Putnam said of his signing with the RedStorm. "Vaulting at the collegiate level wasn't something I'd really thought about until recently."

    WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - University of Rio Grande head baseball coach Brad Warnimont has announced the signing of Portsmouth West High School's Austin Howard for the 2015 season.
    Howard, a 6-foot-2, 255-pound first baseman, batted .524 for head coach Chris Rapp's Senators, earning second team All-Southeast District and second team All-Southern Ohio Conference Division II honors in the process.
    "I'm blessed to have this opportunity and ecstatic to be heading to Rio Grande," Howard said. "I've always dreamed of taking my baseball career to the next level since I put on my first glove. I'm very excited to begin this new chapter of my life."
